The SICK WTB2S-2P3160 is a compact, high-precision photoelectric proximity sensor ideal for detecting small parts and features in automated processes such as manufacturing, quality inspection, and material handling. It operates on the background suppression principle, eliminating the need for external reflectors and providing consistent detection performance even with varying backgrounds.

Equipped with a visible red PinPoint LED light source (approx. 640 nm), the sensor produces a sharply focused light spot that improves alignment and detection accuracy on small targets. It supports a supply voltage range of 10 V DC to 30 V DC with low power consumption (~20 mA) and delivers a PNP output with light switching. The design enables fast operation with a response time below 0.5 ms and switching frequency up to 1000 Hz.

The unit’s rectangular housing constructed from durable ABS/PC plastic and PMMA optics resists dust and water ingress (IP67), making it suitable for harsh environments. A pre-wired M8, 3-pin cable (200 mm) simplifies installation. Its tiny form factor (approx. 7.7 × 21.8 × 13.5 mm) allows easy mounting in tight spaces for precise object detection tasks.
