Description
The SICK IME12-08NPSZC0S is a rugged, compact inductive proximity sensor from SICK’s IME series, optimized for automatic detection of metal targets in machinery and process control systems. Using inductive sensing technology, it provides contactless detection and high repeatability thanks to an integrated ASIC design.
Housed in a cylindrical M12 × 1 threaded barrel made from brass with nickel plating, the sensor supports non-flush mounting and is rated IP67 against dust and water ingress. It operates over a standard industrial supply range of 10 V DC to 30 V DC and delivers a PNP switching output with normally open (NO) configuration, enabling easy interfacing with PLCs and control circuits.
With an 8 mm sensing range, a 2 kHz switching frequency, and protections including short-circuit, reverse-polarity, and power-up pulse safeguards, the IME12-08NPSZC0S is suitable for metal object detection tasks such as part positioning, conveyor monitoring, assembly verification, and safety interlocking in industrial environments. Operating temperatures range from -25 °C to +75 °C, making it well-suited for demanding applications.
